We are thrilled to announce the 6th edition of unitaryHACK! This year’s event runs from June 3-17, 2026, and the mission remains the same: building a more resilient, open-source quantum future.

Before diving into things, we hope you’ll review the new unitaryHACK AI policy. In this time of Generative AI, we are particularly focused on how LLMs can be a collaborator in the open source community.

UnitaryHack 2026

What is unitaryHACK?

If you’re new here, this isn’t your average weekend hackathon. unitaryHACK is a bounty-driven sprint designed to bridge the gap between curiosity and contribution. Whether you’re a seasoned quantum dev or just pushing your first commits, this is your chance to:

  • Earn Rewards: Get paid for solving real-world issues on the most critical tools in the stack
  • Build Your Portfolio: Make substantive contributions to top-tier open-source projects
  • Strengthen the Ecosystem: Support and build relationships with maintainers

The Momentum is Real

Last year, the community absolutely crushed it:

  • 1,000+ global participants (hackers and maintainers)
  • 172 bounties claimed
  • $19,000+ in rewards distributed worldwide

We’re looking to blow those numbers out of the water in 2026.
